We are proud to be ready to immediately pivot to online learning for term 3 &4. Please be assured that DIM Connect has been carefully planned, and based on our experience from 2020, we are all ready to deliver an awesome online experience for as long as needed.
We are pleased to be able to continue your child's lessons during this unsettled period. Our office is currently closed, but we are all still working from home and happy to help If you have any enquiries, please contact your Program Manager directly, or DIM admin: firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember this music is owned by our schools, and is available only on a temporary basis, while we are not permitted onsite to obtain copies.
What is DIM Connect 2.0?
For those families that were with us for DIM Connect during 2020, we're pleased to say that we've refined our online offering to include a more customised experience for each of our students, retaining familiar tutors and student groups. For all of our junior students who have joined DIM this year, you can be assured that we've pivoted online successfully before, and we are confident that DIM Connect will be a positive experience for all.
What is the Online Schedule?
It is our aim that all DIM lesson & rehearsal schedules remain largely unchanged during home learning. While there will be some slight changes to a small number of groups, these are minor changes only and you will be notified if you are affected.
What is the Online Format?
Zoom will be used for all DIM Connect online sessions. We used zoom during 2020 and your tutor is trained in using it to the best when running their music lessons. Keeping our lesson groups small, with familiar tutors and friends, means that our students can hear each other and they can engage directly with their tutor and their group.
I don't want anyone to see me on zoom, can I still join in?
Yes! There is no need to turn your video on for the lessons or rehearsals. You'll still be able to see your conductor and some of your friends who are taking part, but there is no obligation to have your camera switched on.
What if I don't like online lessons?
We are working hard to offer continued work to our tutoring team, and we're pleased to be able to offer them work during this time. We encourage everyone to participate in our online sessions, however, if you prefer not to participate online, we can pause your membership until things return to normal.
What if the lockdown continues?
Our online lessons will continue for as long as required. When schools return to face to face learning, it will be with some restrictions in place, and we have plans in place for a number of scenarios, working within those restrictions.
How will I know how to login for my lesson and rehearsal?
You will receive a separate email with your zoom login details, including meeting ID and password, and clear zoom instructions.
