Good Quality Instruments are Essential for a Great Start

Once your child's instrument choice has been confirmed, you really only have one more thing to do - arrange an instrument.

Good Quality Instruments

It is so important for all of our young students to start out on a good quality instrument. While the price tag of a cheaper instrument can be tempting, they are typically more difficult to play; they can lead to poor posture and technique, and they can be difficult to repair when they inevitably have issues. We always encourage you to choose quality for your child's first instrument.

With that said, you definitely don't need a top of the range model!

We recommend good quality, established instrument brands like Jupiter and Yamaha to ensure you get off to the best start possible.  Most instrument brands offer a competitively priced basic student model - this is a perfect option for beginners, it will definitely see you through primary school and most of high school too if your child continues on their musical journey.

Rent or Buy?

Instrument rental is a popular option for many beginner band and strings students, but you can also choose to purchase an instrument outright - either option is fine, as long as your instrument is good quality, you'll be off to a great start on your musical journey!

Rent

There are many options for Instrument Rental around Sydney and online, and you'll find that most include a 'Rent To Buy' option so that you can pay off your instrument while renting.

Buy

If you decide to buy your instrument outright,  there's no need to go for the top of the range options! Most good instrument brands like Jupiter and Yamaha offer a competitively priced basic student model - this is a perfect option for beginners, it will definitely see you through primary school and most likely high school too!
